Beyond the Lab

Welcome to Beyond the Lab!

Beyond the Lab is a podcast created by three intrepid high school students at RockEDU’s Summer Science Research Program (SSRP) as a science communication project. Each episode features Hana, Leora, and Jacob interviewing an esteemed faculty member at Rockefeller about their lives besides their science or, beyond the lab! The interviews begin with questions about their hobbies and interests, expanding into deeper discussions of their upbringing and unique and often non-linear paths to science. Our hosts’ mission in creating this podcast is to share with others an impactful lesson they took away from SSRP: that scientists are real, approachable people and often really interesting!
