“We have biology programs, math programs, english programs, we have offices of student engagement and student affairs. Why is it not standard to have offices of outreach and engagement?”

Allison Coffin, President of Science Talk and Professor at Washington State University, delivers a flash talk focusing on three main barriers to engaging in science outreach: the lack of incentive, the lack of encouragement, and the lack of connection to opportunity. Allison advocates for creating Offices of Engagement and Outreach in educational institutions in order to expand involvement in science outreach.
