Serena Zhang

Serena Zhang is a current high school senior at the Fieldston School in the Bronx and was a 2018 SSRP participant at the Rockefeller University in the Tavazoie Lab, studying noncoding RNAs in C elegans using CRISPR and RNAi techniques. Serena loves conducting research, especially biomedical research, despite all the uncertainty and unavoidable failure involved in it. In school, she especially enjoys math, science, and English classes, and writing for her school’s paper. In her free time, Serena can be found reading, running, playing cello, sleeping, eating, or hanging out with her friends and family – possibly many of those activities at once!
