Raymond Van Steyn

Raymond Van Steyn is a doctoral student at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Montclair State University in 2015, after which he completed a Master’s degree program in Animal Behavior and Conservation Science at Hunter College, CUNY in 2017. Raymond’s research focuses on the cognitive abilities of non-human animals, and the implications and utility of animal intelligence.

Outside of Science, Raymond enjoys being outdoors with his partner reading, camping and hiking. He also enjoys entertaining, and serves as his friends’ Dungeon Master in the popular tabletop game “Dungeons and Dragons”.
