Natalie Alexander
Natalie is a SSRP Fellow who is creating and co-leading a research track for the SSRP. Here, she talks about her life outside of science and what mentorship means to her!
Natalie is a current third year graduate student in the Fuchs Lab, where she studies stem cells. This year, she is serving as an SSRP Fellow, where she will be a part of a larger research team leading a research track in the SSRP. Here, she talks about her love for science, and why mentorship is important to her!
Where were you before Rockefeller?
“I double majored in Biology and History at Boston College, and then worked as a research technician at Massachusetts General Hospital post-grad (2 years).”
What is something you did recently that you are proud of?
“Traveled outside the country for the first time for my first international conference!”
Share one thing about science that brings you joy.
“Getting to feed my curiosity and answer questions that I find interesting”
Outside of your research and science, what do you do for fun?
“I love doing hot yoga/pilates, playing tennis and pickleball, and going to concerts/listening to live music”
What are you most looking forward to when mentoring students with RockEDU?
“Getting to share my enthusiasm for research with others and help create an environment where everyone feels like a scientist”
What advice would you give to incoming students?
“Be curious and pursue questions that excite you!”
