Jonathan Frederick, on behalf of the University of North Carolina’s Morehead Planetarium and Science Center, discusses the IMPACTS program through the NC Science Festival where they work with minority institutions to train scientists in science communication and outreach. Crystal Harden, Jonathan’s mentor, introduces the Saunders Science Scholars Program: a six year family science and enrichment club aimed at strengthening the scientific identities of females of color within a rural county in North Carolina.
